Formal Biography
Michael Lawson is the Associate Pastor of Pastoral Ministry and Disciplemaking at Mount Gilead Baptist Church, Dothan, AL. (2009-present). He previously served as:
- Associate Pastor and Youth Minister of First Baptist Church, Cleveland, MS (2005-2009)
- Associate Pastor and Youth Minister of First Baptist Church, Amite, LA (2001-2005)
- Youth Minister of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Webb, AL (1998-2001)
Michael has also served as an adjunct professor for The Baptist College of Florida and Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary.
Michael grew up in south Georgia. After high school, he received a BA in Theology from Florida Baptist Theological College/The Baptist College of Florida (1999). He then received a MDiv in Expository Preaching from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (2004). Michael then completed a PhD in Practical Theology from Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary (2013).
Michael met his wife, Allison, while attending The Baptist College of Florida. Michael and Allison have three girls: Mackenzie, Blakely, and Hadley. Michael enjoys hanging out with his family, going on dates with his wife, and doing pretty much anything outside.
